“I love food, now. It wasn’t always that way. Growing up I was a challenge for my parents as I was such a picky eater. So much so that I remember my mum taking me to see our family doctor who told my mum that if she was worried to give me some chocolate!! Hopefully that wouldn’t happen now but it is interesting to note how food can shape who we are and our attitudes to it. Food is much more than calories, it is information for our mind and body, can alter our DNA, change our mood and ultimately make us who we are. My appetite has improved and I still love chocolate, occasionally.

So, allow me, as your Anam Cara, to guide you on your food journey.”

Q What is nutritional therapy?

The Philosophy of 'modern day' Nutritional Therapy is rooted firmly in Naturopathic Medicine with it's seven fundamental principles:

​1. Vis medicatrix naturae, The healing Power of Nature
2. Primum non nocere, First do no harm
3. Tolle Causam, Find the cause
4. Docere, Doctor as teacher
5. Treat the whole person
6. Preventive medicine
7. Wellness

​These underlying principles allow us as therapists to analyse each individual clients case by finding the answers:
What are the underlying causes of the symptoms?
How is the body dealing with these symptoms?
What interventions are needed to support self-healing?
How can I educate my client to understand why they are ill or living with undiagnosed disease and sub-optimal health?

The British Association For Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine, BANT, defines Nutritional Therapy as the application of nutrition science in the promotion of health, peak performance and individual self-care.

As therapists we use a variety of tools including the one -on-one consultation process, with it's full medical history, diet and lifestyle analysis and naturopathic physical checks such as nail and tongue analysis to assess and identify nutritional imbalances and understand how they contribute to an individual's symptoms and health concerns.

​We are all biochemically individual therefore there can be no 'one size fits all' approach. There are no quick fixes with pharmaceutical drugs, no miracle 'cures'. We are living longer now than ever before but we are 'sicker' than ever (with death from dementia, Alzheimer's and liver disease in males and females taking over death by stroke and lung cancer).

​Patricia will be able to create an individualised diet and lifestyle protocol for you, supporting body and mind and inspiring you to be the best version of you that you can be.

There is so much conflicting evidence in the media today that it's easy to be confused and overwhelmed with information overload. I will do the ground work and aim to give you a balanced and rational view on the hottest topics relating to wellness, diet and lifestyle.

Q What services do you provide?

As a registered Nutritional Therapist Patricia is qualified to offer personalised one-to-one initial consultations and follow up appointments. These can be tailored to meet your goals and requirements into a package that suits you.

In the future she plan on running small workshops collaborating with other selected complementary therapists. In addition offer private lessons in topics such as 'Menu Planning' and 'Getting Organised in the Kitchen'.
